Home Standby Generators
Trusted solutions for emergency power from Honeywell

How does an automatic backup generator work?

The generator system is pretty simple. The generator and transfer switch work together to monitor utility power 24/7. You don’t need to be available to start the system in the event of an outage—it will start automatically. The generator sits outside the home or business just like a central air conditioner while the transfer switch is located next to the main breaker box.

  1. Within seconds of sensing utility power is lost, the generator starts automatically to supply power.
  2. When the return of utility power is sensed, it automatically shuts down...
  3. ...and returns to standby mode, ready for the next outage.

Don't be left in the dark when power goes out! A Honeywell standby generator can run on natural or LP gas and have automatic startup and shutdown. Models are listed by power rating capacities.

Installed Systems start at just $89.00 per month with approved credit.

Keep your home comfortable during blizzard conditions, ice storms when electricity fails due to downed power lines, or during the hot summer when demand is high and the transformers fry and your electricity fails. Many times an accident or animal is to blame for a power failure. Also protect your freezer full of meat, pies, ice cream, etc. In January of 2005 over 100,000 customers were without power in Northeast Indiana for up to 6 days. Many people ended up with frozen and busted water lines, loss of groceries, or had to move out of there home and move in with relatives in order to survive. Many families with livestock such as horses, llama, cattle, etc had to drive 40 or more miles to find water and haul it back for the animals 2 times a day. In 2002 over 6 million homes were without power, some for several days due to a power grid failure. With no new power plants being built in recent years and virtually no upgrade to our nations power grid in the last 30 years, now is the time to protect your family!

You can avoid those costly and time stealing things from happening to you with a home standby generator from Huntington Heating and Cooling, Inc. The systems operate on Natural or Lp gas so that everyone can have generator standing by and ready to provide electricity at a moments notice.

Unlike portable generators that you have to drag out of the garage or storage shed, put gasoline in, start it up, (if it will start after setting unused for a year or longer) run power cords to the appliances you want to operate or unwire your furnace or well and wire it up for the generator, the standby generator from Huntington Heating & Cooling is fully automatic, you do not even need to be home for the generator to work. And don't forget you can not leave because the portable generator needs refueled every hour or so.

The system will automatically turn on after about 60 seconds of power failure and provide electricity to the things you need most. For example; heating system, cooling system, refrigerator, well, lights, water heater, etc. You decide what items you want power provided to and we will size the unit based on the load. It is all automatic. After your regular electricity is restored, the generator will automatically shut off and switch back, it is that easy. You do not have to do anything.

With a home standby generator from Huntington Heating & Cooling we handle all of the details for you from start to finish. We will fill out a survey based on your answers to the questions and then design the system that you want. You will get it professionally installed, usually in less than 1 day and it will be fully operational should your electricity fail.
